Schuette & Associates Frequently Asked Questions

  • DO I HAVE TO PAY AN ATTORNEY UPFRONT TO HANDLE MY PERSONAL INJURY CASE?

This firm has been representing injured persons for over 50 years. Personal injury cases are handled on a "contingency" fee basis. We do not charge any upfront fees. A fee is only charged if there is an award or recovery in the case. Our fee is ultimately a percentage of what we are able to recover for our clients. While the majority of personal injury law firms charge a 40% fee for their services, this firm still charges 1/3 or 33 1/3 % regardless of whether suit is filed. Additionally, we will pay for the ordinary expenses of such a case (i.e. obtaining medical records and reports; hiring private investigators and liability experts; filing lawsuits; etc) up front. Our position regarding our "contingency" arrangements reflects our confidence in our client's cases.
